How it all started
Jemu Home was founded in 2005 - the year Nepal's quota-era garment sector collapsed. While factories closed, our founder brought together skilled artisans across the Kathmandu valley to prove that Nepal's craft heritage could reach the world on its own terms.
Two decades on, the same weaving and felting families still make our pashmina, felt, singing bowls and rugs.

Founded in Kathmandu
The year Nepal’s quota-era garment sector collapsed and 50,000 export jobs vanished. We were built on craft and relationships, not factory dependency.
- 2005–13
The pashmina years
Pashmina production begins in-house. Long-term partnerships with hand-weaving families across the Kathmandu valley take root.
- 2014
Felt & cashmere
Grade-A pashmina and cashmere join the catalogue, woven by valley families on traditional looms.
- 2021
Bowls & felt boom
Handmade felt and Himalayan singing bowls added. Felt becomes our fastest-growing line.
- 2024
Two decades, still certified
Our artisan workshops have held Label STEP certification since the early days - independently verified fair pay, safe conditions, and traceable supply chains. Now pursuing ISO certification to raise the bar further.

Jemu Home was founded in 2005 - the year Nepal's quota-era garment sector collapsed and more than 50,000 export jobs vanished. Our founder, a former president of the NCMEA and his wife, chose to build something different: a direct export channel rooted in artisan relationships, not factory dependency.
Two decades on, the same weaving and felting families still make our pashmina, felt, singing bowls and hand-knotted rugs - made by Label STEP certified workshops, traceable to the person who crafted each piece.
