Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

1. Overview

This privacy policy explains what personal data we process when you visit our website or contact us through our contact or inquiry forms, and outlines your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is:

Norbu Chhiring Sherpa, owner of Jemu Home (sole proprietorship)
Ward No. 5, Bishal Nagar
Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Kathmandu, Nepal
Email: info@jemuhome.com

Further company details can be found in our Impressum.

Note: because Jemu Home is based outside the EU/EEA and targets advertising at individuals in Germany, Article 27 GDPR may require the appointment of a representative in the European Union. [Insert the name and address of the EU representative once appointed — have counsel confirm whether the exemption under Art. 27(2) GDPR applies.]

3. Hosting and server log files

Our website is operated by an external hosting provider. When you access the website, our hosting provider automatically collects technical data transmitted by your browser (so-called server log files), including your IP address, the date and time of the request, browser type and version, operating system used, and the previously visited page (referrer URL). This data is used for the technical provision and security of the website and is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable and secure website operation).

4. Contact and inquiry forms

If you contact us through a contact or inquiry form on this website, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, company, email address, country, message text, and, where applicable, your consent) solely to process your inquiry and any follow-up questions. This data is forwarded by email to our sales team. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps to enter into a contract) or, where separate consent is requested, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. To protect against automated access (spam), we use Google reCAPTCHA (see Section 6).

5. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to manage website tags, and Google Analytics 4 to analyse website usage (e.g. pages viewed, time on site, form interactions). Data collected this way is processed in pseudonymised form and is not used to directly identify you. Analytics and marketing tags are only activated after you give consent through the cookie banner shown on this website; non-essential cookies remain disabled by default. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with future effect by choosing "Decline" in the cookie banner or clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

6. Google reCAPTCHA

To protect our forms from abuse by automated software (bots), we use the reCAPTCHA service provided by Google Ireland Limited. This transmits technical data (including IP address, mouse movements, and browser and device information) to Google for evaluation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our website from spam and abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Meta and Instagram advertising

For advertising aimed at visitors in Germany, we may use services provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (including the Meta Pixel and/or Conversions API) to measure the effectiveness of our ads and show relevant content. This may involve transmitting data about your activity on this website to Meta, where it may be linked to your Meta account if you have one and are logged in. Processing takes place only on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). For information on how Meta handles your data, see Meta's Data Policy. [Review this section once the Meta Pixel is activated and align it with the actual implementation.]

8. Google Maps

On individual pages (e.g. to show our workshop location), we embed Google Maps provided by Google Ireland Limited. When you open such a page, your browser connects to Google's servers, which lets Google know that our page was accessed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in presenting our location clearly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

9. International data transfers

Because Jemu Home is based in Nepal and uses service providers outside the EU/EEA (including Google and Meta, which also operate servers in the US), personal data may be transferred to third countries. We take care to work only with providers that offer appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses). [Confirm the specific transfer basis for each provider with counsel before relying on this section.]

10. Retention period

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose or as required by law. Inquiries submitted through our contact forms are deleted once the business relationship has been clarified and no further retention obligations apply. [Add specific deletion periods once determined.]

11. Your rights as a data subject

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Right to withdraw consent already given, with future effect
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority

To exercise these rights, an informal message to info@jemuhome.com is sufficient.

12. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy whenever changes to our data processing make this necessary. The version published on this page at the time of your visit applies.
